Fibre optic cable Molex PN LC–SC OM4 10 m, 50 µm core, full duplex
Molex PN fibre optic cable LC–SC OM4 10 m is a multimode full-duplex patch cable designed for high-speed data links and network interconnects. The cable uses a 50 µm core multimode OM4 fiber optimized for short-reach, high-bandwidth applications. With a 10 meter length and LC connector on one end and SC connector on the other, this jumper is suitable for linking switches, transceivers and server equipment in datacentres and enterprise networks. The outer jacket is Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH) in violet and each cable is delivered with a measurement protocol confirming optical performance.
The OM4 multimode fiber provides improved bandwidth performance compared with lower multimode grades, supporting data rates up to 40 Gbit/s over the specified distances. The full-duplex LC–SC connector combination allows straightforward compatibility with common transceivers and patch panels. An LSZH jacket reduces hazardous smoke and corrosive gas emissions in case of fire, making the cable appropriate for use in restricted spaces and structured cabling environments. Inclusion of an individual measurement protocol ensures traceable optical parameters and quality control for installation and testing.
Determine the required routing path and ensure both ends are clean and free from dust before mating connectors. Insert the LC connector into the LC port and the SC connector into the SC port until secure; handle the cable by the connector boots and avoid bending below the minimum bend radius. Use the supplied measurement protocol to verify loss and continuity after installation. For permanent fixing, secure the cable along trays or racks using appropriate clamps that do not compress the jacket.
Inspect connector endfaces with a fiber inspection tool and clean as necessary prior to connection. Avoid sharp bends and mechanical strain; maintain bend radii according to manufacturer guidance. Use LSZH-rated cable in enclosed or public spaces where reduced smoke and halogen emissions are required.
