Welding electrode Monolith M-309L stainless steel 3.2 mm, pack of 3
Monolith M-309L welding electrodes are stainless steel stick electrodes with a 3.2 mm diameter, supplied in a pack of three. They are intended for manual metal arc welding of various steels including austenitic and carbon steels, as well as austenitic stainless steels such as 08Х18Н10, 03Х18Н11, AISI 304 and AISI 304L. The electrodes are also suitable for welding heat-resistant stainless steels AISI 309 and AISI 309S and steels with similar chemical composition like 20X23H13 and 08X23H13. Use is recommended where the service temperature does not exceed 300°C, for overlaying transition layers on heat-resistant chrome–molybdenum pearlitic steels, ferritic–pearlitic bases of low and medium alloy composition, and for applying buffer layers prior to surfacing.
These Monolith M-309L electrodes produce corrosion-resistant weld deposits with good fusion to parent metals and dissimilar steel combinations. The 3.2 mm diameter and pack of three make them convenient for repair, maintenance and small fabrication jobs that require limited amounts of filler metal. They are formulated to be compatible with both austenitic and certain heat-resistant stainless steels and to tolerate operating temperatures up to 300°C.
Prepare weld surfaces by removing scale, rust, oil and other contaminants. Select welding current and polarity according to electrode diameter and welding position, following standard MMA (stick) welding practice for stainless steel electrodes. Use the electrode to deposit transition, buffer or surfacing layers as required, ensuring appropriate interpass temperature control and proper fusion with the base metal. Allow welds to cool and clean slag from the deposits before subsequent passes or final inspection.
Store electrodes in a dry environment to prevent moisture absorption. For critical applications, follow applicable welding procedure specifications (WPS) and perform appropriate post-weld cleaning and, if required, heat treatment or passivation according to base metal and service conditions.
