Monolith M-308L welding electrodes, diameter 3.2 mm, pack of 3, are intended for manual metal arc (MMA) welding of austenitic stainless steels compatible with 308L filler metal, including AISI 304L, AISI 321 and AISI 347, at service temperatures up to 450°C. The compact pack provides a practical solution for repair, fabrication and maintenance tasks where corrosion-resistant stainless steel welds are required.
These Monolith M-308L electrodes deliver welds compatible with common 308L-grade stainless steels and are suitable for use on equipment, tanks and piping. The 3.2 mm diameter offers good usability for typical MMA welding applications, and the small pack of three electrodes is convenient for occasional jobs, on-site repairs and limited production runs.
Select appropriate welding current and polarity for 3.2 mm MMA electrodes and prepare joint surfaces by removing contaminants and oxidation. Use correct welding parameters for austenitic stainless steels to avoid excessive heat input and preserve corrosion resistance. Strike the arc and maintain a stable arc length while advancing at a consistent travel speed; interpass cleaning and temperature control are recommended for multi-pass welds. Follow equipment manufacturer's safety and operating instructions.
Store electrodes in a dry place to prevent moisture pickup. For critical or pressure-bearing applications, perform weld procedure qualification and post-weld inspection according to applicable standards and industry requirements.
