Network cable MONTIS Cat6A S/FTP, 5 m, model MT116-5
MONTIS Cat6A S/FTP network cable, 5 m, model MT116-5 is a shielded Ethernet patch cable designed for high-speed local area networks. The cable features S/FTP construction — each twisted pair wrapped in foil with an overall braided shield — to reduce electromagnetic interference and maintain signal integrity for short runs. It is intended for 10 Gigabit Ethernet and other high-bandwidth applications between network devices such as switches, routers and patch panels in office or home environments.
The S/FTP design provides improved protection against crosstalk and external electromagnetic noise compared with unshielded cables, supporting more reliable data transmission in electrically noisy environments. Its Category 6A performance rating enables stable connections at frequencies up to 500 MHz and supports 10 Gigabit Ethernet over typical short patch lengths. A flexible jacket and standard 5-meter length allow easy routing and neat patching behind racks, desks and network equipment.
Route the cable between the two network devices ensuring both RJ45 ends are fully inserted into the Ethernet ports until they click. Avoid tight bends and sharp crimps; maintain the manufacturer’s recommended bend radius when routing the cable through cable trays or behind equipment. When connecting shielded cables, ensure connected devices or patch panels provide proper grounding to make use of the cable’s shielding.
For best performance, use this Cat6A S/FTP cable for short patch runs up to 5 meters in environments with possible electromagnetic interference. Pair with compatible shielded connectors and grounded patch panels or equipment to fully benefit from the S/FTP shielding. Avoid routing next to high-voltage power lines and replace the cable if the jacket or connectors are damaged.
