Pruning Shears NEO tools 15-254 Weight 1.44 kg
NEO tools 15-254 pruning shears weigh approximately 1.44 kg and are designed for precise cutting of woody and dry plant material. This anvil-style, two-handed garden shear has a 670 mm total length and telescopic aluminium arms that extend reach up to 970 mm, allowing work on higher or deeper branches without ladders. The tool uses a roller transmission that increases cutting power by up to 60% and is intended for cuts on branches up to 42 mm in diameter. Blades feature a non-stick (PTFE) coating to reduce sap and debris adhesion and a hardened cutting edge suitable for hard and dry wood. Two-material non-slip handles provide a secure grip during extended use.
The anvil cutting system combines an upper cutting blade with a shearbar that secures the branch and absorbs cutting forces, reducing the user effort required for thicker stems. Roller transmission amplifies the applied force, improving cutting efficiency while maintaining control. Telescopic aluminium arms balance reach and weight, keeping the tool relatively light for its class and easy to manoeuvre. Non-stick coated blades reduce cleaning frequency and improve cutting consistency when working with sap-bearing material. Two-material non-slip handles enhance grip stability and user safety.
Position the shears so the branch rests against the shearbar of the anvil system and apply steady, even pressure on both handles to complete the cut. For thicker branches near the maximum diameter, use both hands and the roller transmission will increase the cutting force to assist the action. Adjust the telescopic arms to the required length before starting work and lock them securely if the mechanism includes a locking feature. After cutting, wipe blade surfaces to remove sap and debris; the PTFE coating facilitates cleaning. Store the tool in a dry place to protect the aluminium arms and blade edge.
Use the pruning shears for dry or dead wood and routine pruning. Avoid cutting green, fibrous branches with the anvil blade when a bypass shear would be preferable for live-wood pruning. Regularly inspect and clean the non-stick blades, and if available consult the manufacturer instructions for lubrication or blade sharpening intervals to extend tool life.
