Managed Switch NETGEAR GS724TP
The NETGEAR GS724TP is a 24-port managed Gigabit Ethernet switch with PoE+ and 2 SFP uplink ports designed for small and medium business networks. It provides a switching capacity of 52 Gbit/s, an 8000-entry MAC address table and a 190W PoE power budget to support modern high-power PoE devices. The switch is rack-mountable (1U) and built for converged networks carrying voice, video and data on a single platform.
The GS724TP delivers full 24-port PoE+ support in a cost-effective managed switch, combining Layer 2 features, PoE management and reduced acoustic noise through temperature- and load-based fan-speed control. It supports IEEE networking standards for interoperability and offers quiet rack operation with a maximum measured noise of 32.4 dB at full power and 25°C ambient.
Install the GS724TP in a standard 19" rack using the supplied brackets or place it on a shelf. Connect uplink SFP modules to your fiber or copper backbone and attach end devices to the Gigabit RJ-45 ports. Configure PoE settings, VLANs and Layer 2 features through the switch management interface according to your network design. Monitor port status and PoE consumption to ensure devices receive appropriate power within the 190W budget.
Plan PoE device deployment so total connected device consumption does not exceed the 190W PoE budget. Use proper SFP modules compatible with your uplink type, maintain adequate rack airflow, and consult NETGEAR documentation for firmware updates and advanced configuration steps.
