Managed Switch NETGEAR M4300-52G-PoE+ 1000W PSU
The NETGEAR M4300 Stackable Switch Series delivers layer 2/3/4 and IPv4/IPv6 services for mid-enterprise edge and SMB core deployments, with full PoE+ support and flexible stacking between 10 Gigabit and 1 Gigabit models. The series supports spine-and-leaf line-rate stacking, non-stop forwarding (NSF) virtual chassis for hitless failover, dual redundant modular power supplies on full-width models, and a comprehensive Layer 3 feature set (static, dynamic and policy-based routing) as standard. Designed for wireless access, unified communications and IP video, the M4300 series also includes SDN and OpenFlow 1.3 capabilities for future network needs.
Best-in-class stacking enables mixed stacks of 10G and 1G models using any 10G port and any media type (RJ45, SFP+, DAC), while NSF and hitless failover provide high availability so forwarding continues on operational members during a master failure. Two half-width switches can occupy a single rack unit for redundant Top-of-Rack deployments with Auto-iSCSI prioritization, and all 10G ports are independent and backward compatible with 1G for gradual migration. The full feature set including L2 multi-tier access control and L3 routing (RIP, OSPF, VRRP, PIM, PBR) is available without additional licenses, and automated DHCP/BootP auto-installation supports firmware and configuration upload. Investment protection is ensured through line-rate spine-and-leaf stacking topologies and OpenFlow support for future SDN adoption. Security features include tiered authentication methods per port (dot1x, MAB, captive portal) for BYOD scenarios. Management supports industry-standard CLI, NETGEAR GUI, SNMP, sFlow and RSPAN, with centralized NMS300 management for firmware and mass configuration. The series is backed by NETGEAR ProSafe Lifetime Hardware Warranty and lifetime online technical support with next-business-day hardware replacement.
Install the M4300 in a rack or on a shelf and connect power modules according to the model’s documentation; for redundant Top-of-Rack setups, pair two half-width units in one rack space. Use any available 10G port and compatible media (RJ45, SFP+, DAC) for stacking between 10G and 1G models. Configure stacking and virtual chassis features through the CLI or NETGEAR GUI, then enable NSF and hitless failover to ensure high availability. Set up VLANs, L2 access control, and L3 routing protocols (static, RIP, OSPF) as required. For PoE deployments, connect powered devices and verify PoE budgets. Use DHCP/BootP auto-installation to automate firmware and configuration uploads during initial deployment. For centralized management, register devices with NMS300 to perform mass configuration and firmware updates.
For high-availability edge or SMB core environments, deploy M4300 switches in stacked virtual chassis with redundant power supplies and enable NSF/hitless failover. For gradual upgrades, intermix 1G and 10G models using 10G stacking ports. Use NMS300 for centralized maintenance and apply tiered authentication (dot1x → MAB → captive portal) for BYOD security.
