Managed L2/L3 Juniper EX2300-C Switch — 12x Gigabit (10/100/1000), 1U, 10G support, Black
The Juniper EX2300-C is a managed L2/L3 rack-mount switch in a compact 1U chassis, offering 12 RJ-45 Gigabit Ethernet (10/100/1000) ports and a USB console for local management. The unit supports 10G uplink connectivity, a 16,000-entry MAC table and a switching capacity of 64 Gbit/s. Conformant with multiple IEEE 802.1 and 802.3 standards, this black EX2300-C model is designed for access-layer deployments, small data center aggregation and locations where space and power efficiency are important.
The EX2300-C combines managed L2/L3 functionality with a small 1U footprint, enabling use in micro-branches, retail outlets and compact wiring closets. Integrated support for IEEE networking standards and a substantial MAC table provide predictable forwarding and interoperability in mixed-vendor environments. Optional 10G uplinks allow aggregation to higher-layer devices while the USB console simplifies initial setup and local troubleshooting. The switch’s switching capacity and QoS features support stable performance for converged access traffic.
Install the EX2300-C into a standard 19-inch rack using the included mounting hardware and connect power. Use the USB console port for initial configuration or connect via the network and perform device setup through the management interface. Configure VLANs, L2/L3 routing, QoS policies and access control lists according to your network design. If required, provision 10G uplinks to aggregation or core switches and register the unit into a Virtual Chassis or Junos Fusion topology when integrating multiple devices for centralized management.
Place the switch in a temperature-controlled rack space with adequate airflow and connect uplinks to higher-layer devices for aggregation. Apply firmware updates and backups of configuration after initial setup. Use VLAN segmentation and ACLs to isolate traffic where security or performance separation is required. For expansion or simplified management, consider using Virtual Chassis or Junos Fusion Enterprise to manage multiple EX-series access switches as a single logical device.
