Duplex optical patch cable LC–ST 50/125 µm OM3, multimode, 10 m is a fiber optic jumper designed for high-speed short-to-medium distance data transmission. It features an LC connector on one end and an ST connector on the other, using 50/125 µm OM3 multimode fiber to support applications in networks, server rooms and telecommunications equipment. The cable's duplex construction provides separate transmit and receive channels, enabling reliable multimode connectivity between switches, transceivers and patch panels.
The cable combines the compact LC connector with the bayonet-style ST connector to offer flexible interoperability across different equipment types. OM3 multimode fiber supports higher bandwidth and enhanced modal performance for short-range 10 Gigabit Ethernet and other high-speed links. At 10 m length the patch cable is suitable for rack-to-rack or equipment-to-panel connections while maintaining low insertion loss and consistent signal quality.
Route the duplex patch cable between the LC and ST ports ensuring the correct alignment of transmit and receive channels. Insert the LC connector into the LC-style receptacle by aligning the keyed ferrule and pushing until it clicks. Insert the ST connector into the ST port with a push-and-twist motion to secure the bayonet coupling. Avoid sharp bends and secure the cable with appropriate ties or management panels to prevent strain on the connectors.
Inspect connector endfaces before insertion and clean with appropriate fiber cleaning tools if contamination is present. Maintain minimum bend radius as specified for OM3 multimode fiber and route away from sources of mechanical stress and EMI. Use in compatible multimode transceivers and equipment rated for 50/125 µm OM3 fiber to achieve expected performance.
