Duplex Optical Patch Cable LC–SC 50/125 µm OM3, 5 m, multimode
Duplex optical patch cable LC–SC 50/125 µm OM3, 5 m, multimode is a factory-terminated fiber lead that links LC and SC ports for duplex transmission in local networks, data centers and telecom racks. The cable uses 50/125 µm multimode OM3 fiber designed for high-speed short-range connections, offering low attenuation and consistent signal quality. With a 5 m jacketed length and standard color coding, it enables straightforward plug-and-play patching and testing between equipment with LC and SC interfaces.
This LC–SC duplex cable delivers reliable duplex communication with low insertion loss and return loss characteristics appropriate for multimode OM3 fiber. The combination of LC and SC connectors provides compatibility between equipment types and rack modules while minimizing space usage at the LC end. The 50/125 µm core/cladding diameter and OM3 grade support higher bandwidth and modal bandwidth performance compared to lower OM classes, improving performance for 10 Gb/s short-reach links. The pre-terminated construction simplifies installation and reduces on-site termination effort.
Inspect connector endfaces for contamination before insertion and clean with an appropriate fiber cleaning tool if necessary. Align the LC connector into the LC port and the SC connector into the SC adapter or socket until each connector latches or seats. Route the 5 m cable to avoid sharp bends and maintain the minimum bend radius recommended for multimode fiber; secure with cable ties or Velcro straps without over-tightening. For testing, connect the cable between the test source and the device under test and measure insertion loss or continuity according to standard procedures.
Store the patch cable coiled without tight loops and protect connectors with dust caps when not in use. Choose a jacket material (PVC or LSZH) appropriate for the installation environment and verify connector polish type if the link requires certified insertion loss values.
