Fiber optic pigtail LC/APC 9/125 G.657.A multimode? single-mode 2 m
Single-mode fiber optic pigtail with an LC/APC connector, 9/125 µm core/cladding and G.657.A bend-insensitive fiber, 2 meters long. This pigtail is intended for splicing and connecting fiber equipment in passive optical networks, patch panels and indoor installations. It delivers low insertion loss and consistent return loss characteristic of APC connectors and is designed to simplify routing in confined spaces thanks to the G.657.A bend-insensitive fiber construction.
The LC/APC 9/125 G.657.A pigtail provides stable optical performance with low insertion loss and improved back reflection control via the angled physical contact (APC) connector end-face. Bend-insensitive G.657.A fiber reduces signal degradation in tight bends and compact cable runs, facilitating installation in cabinets, panels and densely routed pathways. The 2 m length offers flexibility for splicing near panels or equipment while keeping excess cable manageable.
Prepare the incoming fiber by stripping and cleaning the jacket and coating according to standard fiber preparation procedures. Perform fusion splicing of the pigtail to the prepared fiber end using an appropriate fusion splicer and splice protection sleeve. Route the pigtail to the patch panel or adapter, and insert the LC/APC connector into the matching APC adapter, ensuring the connector key orientation and angled end-face engagement for optimal return loss. Secure excess length inside the enclosure to avoid tight bends beyond the fiber’s specified bend radius.
Store and handle the pigtail in a clean environment, avoid touching the connector end-face, and use a fiber inspection tool to verify end-face cleanliness before insertion. When routing, maintain gentle bends consistent with G.657.A bend tolerance and avoid repeated flexing at the same point. For installations requiring the lowest possible return loss, match LC/APC pigtails with APC adapters and transceivers that accept angled connectors.
