Modular hermetic switchgear 2x12 surface-mounted (N+PE) IP65 for 500V AC / 1000V DC
Modular hermetic switchgear 2x12 surface-mounted (N+PE) IP65 for 500V AC / 1000V DC is a weather-resistant, surface-mounted enclosure designed to house up to two rows of 12 modular devices with separate neutral and protective earth terminals. The unit provides an IP65 sealed barrier against dust and water jets and is rated for use in electrical distribution systems that require both AC (up to 500 V) and DC (up to 1000 V) compatibility, making it suitable for rooftop, ground-mounted and small commercial solar installations as well as for damp or exposed locations.
The hermetic construction ensures protection against dust ingress and water jets, extending service life in outdoor and humid environments. Surface-mounted design simplifies installation on walls, poles or cabinet sides without the need for flush cutting. Separate N and PE terminals provide clear wiring organization and safe earthing. Compatibility with both AC and DC voltages supports mixed-power installations such as hybrid inverters and PV systems with DC protections. The modular layout enables neat arrangement of protective devices, isolators and fuses for straightforward maintenance and circuit identification.
Mount the enclosure on a suitable flat surface using appropriate fasteners for the substrate, ensuring the enclosure is level and securely fixed. Install compatible modular protective devices (MCBs, DC switches, fuses, surge protectors) into the module positions, following manufacturer instructions for each device. Connect incoming and outgoing conductors to the dedicated neutral and protective earth terminals, observing correct polarity and torque settings for terminals. Ensure cable entries and conduit connections maintain the IP65 rating by using certified glands or sealed conduit fittings. Perform insulation and continuity checks after wiring and before energizing the circuits.
Use components rated for the specified AC and DC voltages and compatible with the enclosure’s modular spacing. Maintain clear labeling of circuits and periodic inspection for seals, cable glands and terminal tightness. Avoid exceeding the enclosure’s rated voltage or environmental specifications to preserve safety and longevity.
