Simplex Armored Optical Patchcord SC/APC - SC/APC 9/125 SM 0.5m White 3mm B3 LSZH

The Simplex Armored Optical Patchcord SC/APC - SC/APC 9/125 SM 0.5m White 3mm B3 LSZH is a specialized single-mode fiber optic jumper cable designed for secure and stable network installations. Terminated with SC/APC connectors on both ends, this simplex cable utilizes a 9/125 OS2 G.657B3 optical fiber and features an integrated armoring layer. This design provides enhanced physical protection while maintaining flexibility, making it well-suited for demanding indoor environments where reliability is critical.

Advantages

This armored optical patchcord offers superior resistance to mechanical stress compared to standard fiber cables. The protective armoring helps prevent signal disruption caused by pinching, bending, or accidental impacts. Additionally, the fiber structure used in this cable provides high durability, allowing it to withstand potential damage from household elements such as pet bites. The low smoke zero halogen (LSZH) jacket further ensures safety by minimizing toxic emissions in the event of high heat or fire.

Suitable for

• Connecting optical network routers in home and office environments
• Linking active networking equipment within distribution cabinets
• Single-fiber xWDM applications requiring reliable simplex connections
• Deployments in areas where cables are exposed to physical wear or pets

When it may not be suitable

This patchcord is not designed for outdoor installations where it would be directly exposed to prolonged moisture, UV radiation, and extreme weather conditions. Additionally, with a length of 0.5 meters, it is strictly intended for short-distance connections, such as linking nearby equipment or patch panels, and cannot span long physical distances.

Key specifications

• Fiber type: Single-mode 9/125 OS2, G.657B3
• Connector type: SC/APC to SC/APC
• Design: Simplex
• Cable length: 0.5 meters
• Outer diameter: 3 mm
• Jacket material: LSZH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen)
• Armoring: Yes
• Color: White
• Operating and storage temperature: -40 to +70°C

How to use

Before installation, carefully inspect the SC/APC connectors for dust or debris, and clean them with appropriate optical cleaning tools if necessary. Align the connector key with the port on your network device or distribution panel and push gently until it clicks securely into place. Avoid sharp bends or excessive pulling forces during routing to ensure optimal optical performance and longevity.

What to consider before purchase

• Verify that the 0.5-meter length is sufficient for the distance between your connected devices
• Confirm that your equipment utilizes SC/APC optical ports
• Assess whether the single-mode 9/125 fiber specification matches your existing network infrastructure

Usage recommendations: Handle the armored optical patchcord with care during installation, ensuring that the minimum bend radius is maintained to prevent signal loss. Keep connectors capped when not in use to protect the end-faces from contamination.
