Fiber optic patch cable SC/APC to LC/UPC simplex 0.5 m 9/125 singlemode
Fiber optic patch cable SC/APC to LC/UPC simplex 0.5 m 9/125 singlemode
Simplex fiber optic patch cable with SC/APC plug to LC/UPC plug, length 0.5 m, 9/125 µm singlemode (OS2, G.657B3). The cable is intended for point-to-point fiber connections in telecom and data networks, test setups and equipment interconnects inside racks and patch panels. It is an armored, LSZH-jacketed simplex jumper with a 3 mm diameter and operating/storage temperature range from -40 to +70 °C.
This patch cable uses singlemode 9/125 OS2 fiber (G.657B3) for stable single-fibre transmission. It combines an SC/APC connector on one end and an LC/UPC connector on the other to allow interconnection of equipment with differing port types. The armored construction increases mechanical resistance and the LSZH jacket reduces smoke and toxic gas emission in case of fire. The connectors are factory-polished (APC on SC end, UPC on LC end) and the cable is suitable for short patching runs in racks and patch panels.
Connect the SC/APC end to the device or patch panel with an SC/APC receptacle and the LC/UPC end to the device or panel with an LC/UPC receptacle. Ensure connectors and adapter faces are clean before mating to avoid loss or damage; use an appropriate fiber cleaning tool if necessary. Do not bend the cable below its minimum bend radius and avoid tensile stress on connectors during installation. The armored construction provides extra protection; when routing the cable through ducts or behind panels, secure it to avoid sharp bends and mechanical strain.
For reliable links, verify connector cleanliness and perform insertion loss or continuity tests after installation. Use simplex configuration only where single-fibre transmission is required. Armored patchcords with G.657B3 fiber are suitable for residential connections to routers and can resist chewing by household pets better than non-armored cables.
