Simplex single-mode fiber optic cable SC/APC to LC/UPC 1 m, 9/125 µm
Simplex single-mode fiber optic cable SC/APC to LC/UPC 1 m, 9/125 µm
Simplex single-mode fiber optic cable SC/APC to LC/UPC, 1 m length, 9/125 µm (OS2, G.657B3). This armored, LSZH-jacketed patchcord is designed for single-fiber connections between equipment in racks or optical distribution frames. It has an SC/APC connector on one end and an LC/UPC connector on the other, with APC and UPC polish types where specified. The cable diameter is 3 mm and it is intended for use in telecom, data center and optical network equipment installations requiring low-loss single-mode links.
The armored construction increases mechanical durability and resistance to damage while the LSZH jacket reduces hazardous smoke in case of fire. Single-mode 9/125 µm fiber (OS2, G.657B3) provides low attenuation and compatibility with single-fiber xWDM applications. SC and LC connector types are industry-standard, ensuring wide compatibility and reliable mating performance.
Route the patchcord between the two equipment ports, taking care to avoid sharp bends and mechanical strain on connectors. Insert the SC/APC connector into the APC-compatible adapter or port and insert the LC/UPC connector into the matching UPC socket. If splitting duplex connections is required, note that this cable is simplex; duplex cables use a detachable clip on compatible connector pairs. Verify link performance with appropriate optical test equipment after installation.
For indoor installations, secure the armored cable along trays or within racks to prevent movement and to protect against pets or mechanical wear. Observe minimum bend radius for 3 mm single-mode fiber and keep connectors clean using appropriate optical cleaning tools to maintain low insertion loss.
