LevelOne 2.5Gbps Single-mode Industrial SFP Transceiver, 20km, 1310nm
The LevelOne 2.5Gbps Single-mode Industrial SFP Transceiver is a high-performance networking component designed for reliable data transmission over fiber optic cables. This module supports a maximum data transfer rate of 2500 Mbit/s and is engineered to operate efficiently in demanding industrial environments, maintaining stability across a wide temperature range from -40°C to 85°C. It utilizes a 1310nm wavelength and is compatible with single-mode fiber infrastructure, enabling connectivity over distances of up to 20km.
This transceiver offers robust performance through its industrial-grade design, ensuring consistent connectivity in harsh conditions where standard hardware might fail. The hot-swappable functionality allows for easy maintenance and upgrades without the need to power down the entire network system. Furthermore, the inclusion of Digital Diagnostics Monitoring (DDM) provides administrators with real-time status updates, facilitating proactive network management and troubleshooting. Its compliance with international standards ensures broad compatibility and high safety levels for professional networking setups.
This transceiver is specifically designed for single-mode fiber applications and will not function with multi-mode fiber cabling. It is also not intended for consumer-grade home networking equipment that lacks SFP port support.
To install the transceiver, ensure the network device is powered on or off according to the manufacturer's guidelines for hot-swappable components. Carefully insert the SFP module into the designated SFP port on your switch or router until it clicks into place. Connect the duplex LC fiber optic cable to the module ports. The device should automatically detect the connection, and you can then use the management interface of your networking equipment to monitor the link status via the DDM feature.
Ensure that the fiber optic connectors are clean and free of dust before insertion to maintain optimal signal integrity and prevent damage to the optical components.
