Duplex patch cable Singlemode OS2 9/125 SC(APC)-SC(APC) LS0H 1 m
Duplex patch cable Singlemode OS2 9/125 SC(APC)-SC(APC) LS0H 1 m is a 1 metre duplex singlemode fiber assembly with SC(APC) connectors on both ends and a low-smoke zero-halogen (LS0H) jacket. It offers two independent optical channels within a single cable for short interconnects between active equipment, patch panels and distribution frames in telecom and datacom installations. The OS2 9/125 singlemode fibre core is intended for long wavelength transmission with low attenuation and stable performance in typical indoor and controlled-environment routing.
The cable combines SC(APC) angled physical contact connectors, which reduce back reflection, with a 9/125 OS2 singlemode profile for low insertion loss over singlemode links. The LS0H outer jacket reduces smoke and toxic gas emission in case of fire, making it suitable for indoor, commercial and managed data centre spaces. Being a duplex assembly, it provides transmit and receive channels in a compact side-by-side format that simplifies routing in patch panels and equipment ports.
This duplex Singlemode OS2 cable is not intended for multimode systems or networks designed for OM-series multimode fibre; using it in multimode ports will cause high loss and mismatch. It is also not intended for harsh outdoor burial or direct-exposure installations unless additional outdoor-rated armouring or conduits are employed. For very long backbone runs beyond standard singlemeter patching, verify link budget and attenuation requirements before use.
Prepare both ends by inspecting connectors for dust and contamination; clean with appropriate fiber cleaning tools if necessary. Route the duplex cable between the two equipment ports or patch panel ports, taking care to avoid sharp bends and tension beyond manufacturer recommendations. Insert the SC(APC) connectors into matching APC receptacles until they click or seat fully; ensure TX and RX channels are connected correctly according to equipment labelling. Secure excess cable to avoid tension and maintain bend radii during operation.
Use fiber cleaners and inspection microscopes to maintain low insertion loss; avoid repeated mating cycles beyond connector ratings and route the cable with minimum bend radius in mind. For permanent or outdoor installations, consider using protective conduits or outdoor-rated assemblies.
