SFP Fiber Optic Transceiver Aruba R9D16A 1000 Mbit/s LC, 500 m
Aruba R9D16A 1G SFP LC SX transceiver is a small-form pluggable fiber optic module designed for compatible Aruba network equipment. It supports a maximum data rate of 1000 Mbit/s over multimode fiber and provides an LC connector interface for short-range fiber links up to 500 m on OM2 cabling. The module is supplied as a single unit and fits standard SFP ports for straightforward insertion and replacement.
The module offers a compact SFP form factor that simplifies upgrades and repairs without modifying switch hardware. With LC fiber connectivity and SX short-range optics, it enables reliable gigabit links over multimode fiber while keeping low weight and small dimensions for easy handling and installation.
This transceiver is intended for short-range multimode applications and is not suitable for long-distance single-mode fiber links. It only supports 1000 Mbit/s operation; for higher speeds such as 10 Gbit/s or above, a different module and compatible ports are required.
Power off or follow hot-swap guidance for your Aruba device, then insert the SFP transceiver into an available SFP port until it clicks into place. Connect LC-terminated multimode fiber patch cords to the transceiver, ensuring correct transmit/receive orientation. Verify link status on the host device and configure network settings as required by your environment.
Use high-quality OM2 multimode fiber and properly seated LC connectors to maintain signal integrity. For installations near the distance limit, test the link under expected traffic conditions. Keep a spare unit on hand for rapid replacement in critical network segments.
