Glass Fiber Fabric Olaplex 50 m — herringbone weave, reinforcement textile
Olaplex glass fiber fabric on a 50 m roll is a woven reinforcement textile produced in a herringbone (chevron) weave. Designed for use with polyester, vinylester or epoxy resins and common adhesives, this glass fiber fabric provides consistent fiber distribution and dimensional stability for composite repairs, lamination, insulation layers, and structural reinforcement in construction and maintenance tasks. The chevron weave improves conformity to curved surfaces while maintaining tensile strength and good resin wettability for durable bonding.
The herringbone weave ensures balanced mechanical properties and easier drape over complex shapes compared with plain-weave fabrics. High glass fiber content delivers reliable tensile strength and stiffness for load-bearing repairs and strengthening. The fabric is compatible with standard wet-layup, vacuum bagging and hand-lamination techniques, allowing efficient impregnation and reduced air entrapment. Supplied on a 50 m roll, it supports medium- to large-scale projects with fewer joints and faster covering of surfaces.
Prepare the substrate by cleaning, degreasing and roughening the surface to ensure proper adhesion. Cut the glass fiber fabric to the required shape, allowing overlaps as needed for strength. Mix the chosen resin according to the manufacturer's instructions and apply an initial resin wet-out to the substrate. Lay the fabric onto the wetted surface and fully impregnate it with resin using a roller or brush to remove trapped air. For multi-layer laminates, repeat fabric placement and impregnation until the required thickness and strength are achieved. Allow the laminate to cure under recommended temperature and time conditions before finishing or loading.
Store the roll in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and moisture to preserve handling characteristics. Use appropriate personal protective equipment — gloves, mask and eye protection — when handling fibers and resins. Ensure adequate ventilation when working with solvent-based resins and follow the resin manufacturer's safety and curing guidance for optimal mechanical performance.
