TP-Link Omada Managed Switch SG2210XMP-M2 — 8× 2.5GBASE-T RJ‑45, 2× 10GE SFP+, 8‑port PoE+
TP-Link Omada Managed Switch SG2210XMP-M2 is an 8‑port 2.5GBASE‑T L2/L2+ managed switch with two 10GE SFP+ uplink slots and integrated PoE+ on eight RJ‑45 ports. Designed for small offices, branch and edge network deployments, it provides a 16,000‑entry MAC table and an 80 Gbps switching capacity in a compact, fanless metal enclosure that can be mounted on a desktop, wall or rack. The switch supports common Ethernet standards including IEEE 802.1Q VLAN tagging, 802.1ab link layer discovery, 802.1p priority and 802.3x flow control, and can be managed locally via web/CLI or centrally through the Omada SDN cloud platform.
The SG2210XMP-M2 combines multi‑gigabit 2.5G connectivity with up to 160 W total PoE budget to power access points, cameras and phones directly from the switch, reducing the need for separate power cabling. Two 10G SFP+ uplink slots provide high‑capacity links to servers or aggregation switches, while a fanless design and metal chassis support quiet and reliable operation in office and edge environments. Layer 2 and L2+ features including static routing, ACLs, QoS and IGMP snooping make the switch suitable for segmented and performance‑sensitive networks.
This switch is focused on Layer 2/L2+ capabilities and static routing; it is not a full Layer 3 router and does not replace a dedicated multilayer core router for complex routing requirements across many VLANs or WAN interfaces. Also, while the switch offers two 10G SFP+ slots, it does not provide more than two 10G uplinks for very large aggregation needs.
Install the SG2210XMP-M2 on a desktop, wall bracket or in a rack according to available space and cooling considerations. Connect client devices and PoE endpoints to the 2.5G RJ‑45 ports and link the switch to your network core using the 10G SFP+ uplinks. Configure basic network settings and VLANs through the web GUI or CLI, or adopt the switch into an Omada SDN controller for centralized cloud management and zero‑touch provisioning. Assign PoE to ports as needed, configure QoS and ACL rules to prioritise voice/video traffic, and enable IGMP snooping for efficient multicast delivery. Monitor device status using SNMP or the Omada controller alerts.
Use the SG2210XMP-M2 to power and connect multi‑gigabit Wi‑Fi access points and IP cameras while keeping uplinks clear with the 10G SFP+ ports. Adopt the switch into Omada SDN for centralized policy and monitoring, enable QoS for voice/video, and use VLANs plus ACLs to segment traffic. Verify PoE budget allocation before powering many high‑draw devices simultaneously.
