Optical patch cable LC-SC duplex 50/125 µm multimode 7 m OM2
Optical patch cable LC-SC duplex 50/125 µm multimode 7 m OM2
Duplex optical patch cable LC-SC 50/125 µm multimode 7 m OM2 provides standardized multimode transmission between networking equipment. One end of the cable terminates with an LC connector and the other with an SC connector, supporting plug-and-play connections in patch panels, switches and transceivers. The 50/125 µm core/cladding diameter and OM2 grade are intended for short- to medium-range links in data centres, server rooms and telecom racks, offering consistent optical performance for practical installation scenarios.
The LC-SC duplex design delivers a compact LC connector paired with a robust SC connector to combine space efficiency and mechanical stability. Multimode 50/125 µm fiber of OM2 classification ensures predictable insertion loss and modal bandwidth suitable for typical 1 Gb/s and some 10 Gb/s applications at limited distances. The 7 m jacketed cable length simplifies routing between adjacent racks, cabinets or equipment rows while minimizing the need for additional patching. Connectors are factory-terminated and polished to provide repeatable connection quality and reduced return loss.
Verify that both ends and mating adapters are clean and free from dust before connecting. Align the LC connector with the LC adapter and insert until it latches; insert the SC connector into the SC adapter until it clicks into place. Avoid tight bends and maintain the manufacturer’s minimum bend radius along the cable path. For removal, depress the LC latch and pull the connector straight out; for SC, disengage the push-pull mechanism and withdraw the connector. After installation, label both ends to identify the link and perform a basic optical validation such as continuity or loss measurement if required.
Store the cable coiled using gentle loops and avoid kinking. Use dust caps or keep connectors protected when not in use. For optimal performance, clean connector endfaces with appropriate fiber cleaning tools and verify link loss within your system specifications before commissioning.
