The Intellinet Optical Transceiver Module SFP+ 10GBase-SR provides 10 Gigabit short-range fibre connectivity over multimode fiber up to 300 m. How to use

Insert the SFP+ transceiver into any compatible SFP+ slot on a switch, server NIC or storage device while the host is powered on to take advantage of the hot-pluggable capability. Connect the multimode fibre cable with the appropriate connector type (LC duplex) to the transceiver ports, ensuring correct polarity. Monitor link status and diagnostic parameters through the host device interface to verify optical power, temperature and other DDM values. When replacing modules, remove the existing transceiver carefully by unlatching the cage and pulling it straight out, then insert the replacement until it clicks into place.

Usage recommendations

Use multimode fibre with appropriate bandwidth-length product (OM3/OM4 recommended for 10GBase-SR) to achieve the specified reach.
