The Intellinet Optical Transceiver Module SFP+ 10GBase-SR provides 10 Gigabit short-range fibre connectivity over multimode fiber up to 300 m. Designed in a compact metal SFP+ housing, the transceiver supports hot-pluggable installation and Digital Diagnostics Monitoring (DDM) for real-time monitoring of optical output/input power, temperature, laser bias current and supply voltage. The module is MSA compliant and presented as vendor-equivalent to Cisco SFP-10G-SR, and it carries certifications including FCC Class A, CE, IEC-60825, RoHS and NDAA. Physical dimensions are approximately 14 x 57 x 12 mm, with a weight of 0.037 kg, silver housing, maximum operating voltage of 3.3 V and typical power consumption of about 1 W. A three-year warranty is provided.
The metal housing reduces electromagnetic interference and increases durability while the mini-GBIC (SFP+) form factor allows high-density port deployments in racks and equipment. Support for standard DDM enables remote diagnostics and easier maintenance. MSA compliance and vendor-equivalent identification ensure broad compatibility with SFP+ ports from multiple manufacturers.
Insert the SFP+ transceiver into any compatible SFP+ slot on a switch, server NIC or storage device while the host is powered on to take advantage of the hot-pluggable capability. Connect the multimode fibre cable with the appropriate connector type (LC duplex) to the transceiver ports, ensuring correct polarity. Monitor link status and diagnostic parameters through the host device interface to verify optical power, temperature and other DDM values. When replacing modules, remove the existing transceiver carefully by unlatching the cage and pulling it straight out, then insert the replacement until it clicks into place.
Use multimode fibre with appropriate bandwidth-length product (OM3/OM4 recommended for 10GBase-SR) to achieve the specified reach. Keep connectors and fibre endfaces clean and use protective dust caps when modules are not connected. Verify DDM readings after installation to confirm proper optical power levels and temperature. For best compatibility, ensure connected equipment supports SFP+ and MSA-compliant modules.
