Origin Storage SFP-10G-LR Cisco Compatible SFP+ 10GBase-LR Transceiver 1310nm SMF 10km DOM
The Origin Storage SFP-10G-LR is a high-performance, Cisco-compatible SFP+ transceiver designed to provide reliable 10GBase-LR connectivity in enterprise networking environments. This module operates at a 1310nm wavelength and is engineered for use with single-mode fiber (SMF) cabling, supporting data transmission distances of up to 10 kilometers. Encased in a durable metal housing, the transceiver includes Digital Optical Monitoring (DOM) capabilities, allowing network administrators to monitor real-time performance metrics such as optical output power, input power, and temperature.
This transceiver offers a cost-effective alternative to original equipment manufacturer hardware without compromising on performance or reliability. Each unit undergoes rigorous testing to ensure full compatibility with Cisco systems, providing a seamless plug-and-play experience. The inclusion of DOM technology enhances network maintenance by providing proactive diagnostic data, which helps in identifying potential issues before they lead to downtime. Furthermore, the hot-swappable design allows for easy installation or replacement without the need to power down network switches, ensuring maximum uptime for critical infrastructure.
This module is specifically designed for single-mode fiber infrastructure and will not function with multi-mode fiber cabling. It is intended for use in hardware that supports the SFP+ standard and is compatible with Cisco equipment; it may not be suitable for non-standard or proprietary networking hardware that requires specific vendor-locked firmware.
To install the transceiver, ensure the network device is powered on and the SFP+ port is clean. Gently insert the module into the SFP+ slot until it clicks into place. Once inserted, connect the appropriate single-mode fiber optic cable to the transceiver. The device should be automatically recognized by the host system. If the link does not establish, verify that the fiber patch cable is clean and properly seated at both ends.
For optimal performance and longevity, avoid touching the optical connector surface. Always use protective dust caps when the transceiver is not connected to a fiber cable to prevent dust accumulation and signal degradation.
