The cable is intended for short Ethernet interconnections in racks, patch panels and network appliances where enhanced shielding and Cat6a performance are required. Contacts on the RJ-45 plugs are gold plated to ensure reliable contact and low resistance in high-speed links, and the jacket is black for standard datacentre and installation aesthetics.
