The PCE Taurus2 rubber plug is a robust and reliable electrical connector engineered for professional and industrial use. Rated for 16A and 230V, this Schuko-type plug is designed to provide a secure and stable power connection in challenging environments. Its construction focuses on durability, utilizing high-quality rubber materials that withstand mechanical stress and harsh conditions, making it an essential component for heavy-duty electrical setups.
Advantages
The primary benefit of the PCE Taurus2 plug is its IP54 protection rating, which ensures effective resistance against dust ingress and splashing water from all directions. This makes it significantly more resilient than standard indoor plugs when used in workshops, construction sites, or outdoor areas. The ergonomic design facilitates easy handling and insertion, while the high-grade rubber housing provides excellent impact resistance and long-term reliability even under frequent use.
Suitable for
- Powering professional power tools on construction sites
- Connecting equipment in industrial workshops
- Outdoor electrical installations requiring splash protection
- Replacement of damaged plugs on heavy-duty extension cords
When it may not be suitable
This plug is not intended for permanent underwater submersion or use in environments with high-pressure water jets, as it is rated only for splash protection. It is also not suitable for specialized industrial sockets that do not conform to the standard Schuko configuration.
Key specifications
- Current rating: 16A
- Voltage rating: 230V
- Protection class: IP54
- Connector type: Schuko
- Material: Durable rubber
How to use
To install the PCE Taurus2 plug, ensure the power supply is disconnected. Strip the outer insulation of the cable and prepare the individual wires according to standard electrical safety procedures. Open the plug housing, insert the cable through the strain relief, and securely fasten the wires to the corresponding terminals. Once the connections are verified, reassemble the housing, ensuring the seal is properly seated to maintain the IP54 rating.
What to consider before purchase
- Verify that your cable diameter is compatible with the plug's strain relief
- Ensure the socket type matches the Schuko standard
- Check that the required amperage and voltage of your equipment do not exceed 16A and 230V
Usage recommendations
Always inspect the plug for signs of wear or damage before each use. Ensure that the cable is properly secured within the strain relief to prevent tension on the electrical terminals, which helps maintain the integrity of the connection and the safety of the user.
