Network Media Converter Perle S-110P-M2SC2-XT
The Perle S-110P-M2SC2-XT Industrial Temperature 10/100 PoE Media Converter provides transparent conversion between 100Base-TX copper Ethernet and 100Base-FX fiber while supplying Power over Ethernet (PoE) to standards-based PoE and PoE+ devices. Designed for extended industrial temperatures from -40°F to +167°F (-40°C to +75°C), the compact black unit supports up to 100 Mbit/s and a multi-mode fiber reach of up to 2000 m at 1310 nm. It is FCC, CE and UL certified and consumes approximately 3.5 W.
The S-110P-M2SC2-XT combines fiber extension and PoE injection in one device, enabling longer-distance connections for industrial equipment such as IP cameras, wireless access points and sensors while delivering up to IEEE 802.3af/802.3at compliant power. Its rugged steel casing and industrial temperature rating allow deployment in harsh outdoor and process environments. Built-in features like Auto-Negotiation, Auto-MDIX, Link Pass-Through, Fiber Fault Alert and Loopback simplify troubleshooting and reduce on-site maintenance. A lifetime warranty and worldwide technical support complete the product offering.
Install the S-110P-M2SC2-XT in a location with suitable environmental protection and connect the copper Ethernet device to the RJ-45 port. Terminate the fiber link using SC connectors to the 100Base-FX ports and ensure correct multi-mode fiber and 1310 nm wavelength compatibility. Use standard UTP cabling to connect Powered Devices (PDs) and verify PoE requirements (IEEE 802.3af or 802.3at) are met by the PD. Apply power to the media converter according to the installation guide and confirm link LEDs and PoE indicators indicate normal operation. For troubleshooting, use the built-in loopback and Fiber Fault Alert features and consult technical support if necessary.
Place the unit where ambient temperatures remain within the specified -40°C to +75°C range, use quality multi-mode fiber with SC connectors for the specified 1310 nm wavelength, and verify PoE power budgets before connecting high-power devices to avoid overloading the converter.
