Network Switch PLANET ISW-504PT Unmanaged L2 Fast Ethernet 10/100 PoE Support
PLANET ISW-504PT is an unmanaged L2 Fast Ethernet switch that provides 10/100 Mbps connectivity with integrated Power over Ethernet (PoE) on selected ports. Intended for plug-and-play deployment, it supplies basic switching functions and PoE power for devices such as IP cameras, VoIP phones and wireless access points, simplifying small office, retail and surveillance network setups without the need for configuration.
The ISW-504PT combines straightforward unmanaged switching with PoE capability, enabling network installers to power compatible devices directly through Ethernet cabling. Its Fast Ethernet ports provide reliable 10/100 Mbps data links for typical access-layer applications, while unmanaged operation reduces setup time and maintenance requirements. The compact design and predictable behavior of an L2 switch make it suitable for deployment where basic VLAN or traffic segmentation is not required.
This unmanaged Fast Ethernet switch does not provide advanced Layer 3 routing, managed switching features, or Gigabit speeds. Environments that require VLAN management, QoS configuration, high bandwidth uplinks, link aggregation or advanced security controls should consider managed switches or models with Gigabit ports and routing capabilities.
Install the ISW-504PT in a ventilated area and connect the switch to a stable AC power source. Use standard Ethernet cables to link devices to the 10/100 Mbps ports; PoE-capable ports will automatically supply power to IEEE 802.3af/at-compatible devices when connected. Connect an uplink port to your router or core switch to provide network access to attached endpoints. As an unmanaged device, no additional configuration is required—simply power on and connect devices for immediate operation.
Use the switch as an access-layer device to connect and power PoE endpoints in small networks. Ensure PoE power requirements of connected devices do not exceed the switch’s available PoE budget and place the unit in a location with adequate ventilation. For networks requiring advanced management or higher throughput, evaluate managed Gigabit alternatives.
