Managed Switch PLANET BSP-360
The PLANET BSP-360 is a managed Gigabit Ethernet switch with integrated renewable energy support and Power over Ethernet (PoE) for deploying remote surveillance and wireless networks. It offers five Gigabit RJ-45 ports, one USB 2.0 port and a switching capacity of 10 Gbit/s, and is designed to be powered by solar, wind or hydro sources via an MPPT charge controller for stable, off-grid operation in locations such as dams, forests, deserts, parks and highways. The BSP-360 works with PLANET NMS-360 for centralized management of multiple units and supports ONVIF for IP camera integration.
The BSP-360 combines managed PoE switching with renewable power management, providing zero-carbon, continuous power for IP cameras and wireless access points through an MPPT charge controller and battery charging. It includes smart battery and PoE management features—such as current battery usage readout, low-voltage cut-off protection, PD alive check, scheduled power recycling, PoE scheduling and PoE usage monitoring—improving reliability and simplifying remote administration. The switch also supports PLANET ONVIF camera discovery and snapshot functions and can power up to four compatible PLANET ONVIF cameras.
Install the BSP-360 in the desired outdoor or sheltered location and connect the renewable energy source (solar panels, wind generator) and battery bank to the unit’s MPPT charge controller per the installation instructions. Connect IP cameras, wireless access points or other PoE devices to the Gigabit RJ-45 PoE ports. Use the built-in web interface or SNMP for configuration, enable ONVIF discovery for compatible PLANET cameras and configure PoE schedules, PD alive check and scheduled power recycling as required. Optionally register BSP-360 units to PLANET NMS-360 for centralized monitoring and control.
Monitor battery status and PoE power usage regularly via the web interface or NMS-360, configure low-voltage cut-off thresholds to protect the battery, and set PoE schedules and periodic reboots for cameras and APs to increase reliability and extend component lifetime.
