Unmanaged Switch PLANET FNSW-2401
The PLANET FNSW-2401 is an unmanaged 1U Fast Ethernet switch with 24 10/100BASE-TX ports, designed for simple network deployments that require reliable connectivity and energy-efficient operation. Compliant with IEEE 802.3 standards and featuring a MAC address table of 8000 entries and a switching capacity of 4.8 Gbit/s, the FNSW-2401 delivers steady performance for small office or branch environments. It supports DC-in power and a rack-mountable form factor for space-efficient installations.
The FNSW-2401 integrates Green Networking features that reduce power consumption by scaling power according to cable length and using an energy-efficient switching engine, achieving up to about 12% power savings while maintaining forwarding performance. It provides flexible DIP-switch selectable operation modes (Standard, Flow Control Off, VLAN, Extend) to adapt to different deployment needs, and offers plug-and-play auto-negotiation with MDI/MDIX auto-detection for easy installation. High forwarding rates (14,880 pps at 10Mbps and 148,800 pps at 100Mbps) help reduce congestion in typical client/server and peer-to-peer networks.
Install the FNSW-2401 in a rack or on a flat surface and connect power via the DC-in jack. Use standard Ethernet cables to connect devices to the RJ-45 ports; the switch will auto-negotiate link speed and duplex settings and perform MDI/MDIX crossover detection automatically. Select the desired operation mode with the rear DIP switch: use Standard for general switching, VLAN to isolate ports 1–22 (which can only communicate with uplink ports 23–24), Flow Control Off to disable flow control, or Extend to allow ports 1–8 to transmit up to 200 m at 10 Mbps. No management interface is required for normal operation.
For best results, deploy the FNSW-2401 in small to medium-sized access networks where unmanaged switching and energy efficiency are important. Use the VLAN mode to reduce broadcast traffic between edge clients, and the Extend mode only when longer 10 Mbps links are necessary; for typical installations keep Ethernet runs under 100 m to maintain full 100 Mbps performance.
