PLANET GSD-805 is an unmanaged 8-port Gigabit Ethernet switch that delivers wire-speed 10/100/1000 Mbps connectivity in a compact, fanless metal housing. Designed for homes, SOHOs and small offices, the switch provides a 16 Gbps switching fabric, an 8K MAC address table and standard IEEE compliance for stable Gigabit networks. It includes an internal power supply and supports wall or rack mounting for flexible installation.

Advantages

The GSD-805 combines energy-saving technologies with full Gigabit performance: Hibernation Link Down Power Saving reduces power to unused ports and an intelligent algorithm scales power according to cable length to maximize efficiency. It features VLAN isolation via a DIP switch to separate ports 1–7 when required, ESD surge protection up to 4 kV for improved stability, and plug-and-play operation with auto-negotiation and auto-MDI/MDI-X on all RJ45 ports.

How to use

Place the GSD-805 on a stable surface or mount it on a wall/rack using available mounting points. Connect each network device with Cat5/5e/6 cables to the RJ45 ports; the ports support auto-negotiation and auto-MDI/MDI-X so no special cable type is required. The internal power supply plugs directly into an electrical outlet. Use the DIP switch to enable VLAN isolation for ports 1–7 when isolating IP cameras or other devices is necessary. The device operates without configuration (plug & play).

Usage recommendations

For maximum energy savings, use cables shorter than 20 m where possible so the switch can scale power per port effectively. Keep ventilation clear around the fanless metal housing and avoid placing the switch near strong electrostatic sources to maintain ESD protection effectiveness.
