Network Media Converter PLANET IGTP-805AT
The PLANET IGTP-805AT Network Media Converter combines Gigabit Ethernet media conversion with an integrated IEEE 802.3at Power over Ethernet Plus (PoE+) injector to deliver up to 30 W of power and high-speed data to remote powered devices. It features a 1000BASE-X SFP fiber uplink for long-distance, stable data transmission and supports 12–48 V DC or 24 V AC input with internal boost to 52 V for flexible and redundant power options. The unit is built in an IP30 metal housing and rated for operation from -40 to 75 °C for use in industrial and transportation environments.
The IGTP-805AT provides combined data and PoE delivery over a single unit, reducing the need for separate power lines or outlets and simplifying installation. Its SFP-based 1000BASE-X uplink supports long fiber distances while maintaining Gigabit throughput with store-and-forward switching, IEEE 802.3x flow control and Link Fault Passthrough (LFP) to minimize packet loss and quickly notify administrators of link issues. Wide input voltage support and internal power boost allow use with common DC/AC sources and provide power redundancy for reliable operation.
Install the IGTP-805AT on a DIN-rail or mount it to a wall in a location that meets the device’s operating temperature and environmental protection requirements. Insert a compatible SFP module into the SFP slot and connect the fiber uplink to the core network. Connect the Ethernet port to the powered device (PD) using a standard Cat5e/Cat6 cable. Provide power by connecting an appropriate 12–48 V DC source or 24 V AC source; the unit will boost to the required 52 V internally for PoE+ delivery. No software configuration is required for basic operation—PoE+ and media conversion are plug-and-play.
Use SFP modules that match the required fiber type and distance (multi-mode or single-mode) and verify the SFP specifications for wavelength and reach. For reliable PoE delivery, ensure the input power source can supply adequate current for the total PoE budget and consider redundant power feeds where continuous operation is critical.
