Description

PLANET IPOE-470 is a compact industrial IEEE 802.3bt PoE++ injector hub with four 10/100/1000BASE-T ports that provide up to 95 W per port and a total PoE budget of 240 W. The unit injects power and data over standard Cat5e/6 UTP cables to remote 802.3bt/at powered devices (PDs), enabling upgrades to higher-power PoE systems without replacing existing Ethernet switches. Two models are available: IPOE-470 and IPOE-470-12V.

Advantages

The IPOE-470 series delivers IEEE 802.3bt PoE++ power (up to 95 W per port) using all four pairs of Ethernet cable, making it suitable for high-power PDs such as PoE PTZ cameras, thin clients, all-in-one touch PCs, POS kiosks, digital signage and PoE lighting. It installs between a regular switch and PDs to add PoE capability without changing the network switch, reduces the need for separate power outlets and supports centralized power management. The unit includes intelligent LED indicators for power input and three-step PoE usage (80 W / 160 W / 240 W) for real-time monitoring.

How to use

Install the IPOE-470 between an existing Ethernet switch and the powered devices. Connect the switch to the unit’s network input ports for data and connect PDs to the PoE output ports; power and data will then be delivered simultaneously over Cat5e/6 cables. For the IPOE-470-12V, connect an appropriate DC source (12–54 V) to the dual DC inputs; the unit will boost and regulate the voltage as required. Use the front-panel LEDs to verify power input status and monitor total PoE usage.

Recommendations

Use Cat5e or Cat6 UTP cables and, when extending beyond 100 meters, pair the IPOE-470 with compatible PLANET PoE Extenders. For installations in transport or industrial sites, choose the IPOE-470-12V to accommodate wide-range DC power sources and enable redundant power input for higher availability.
