The PLANET LRP-101UH Long Reach PoE solution extends Ethernet data and injects power simultaneously to a remote 802.3af/at PoE powered device beyond the standard 100 m Ethernet limit. The LRP-101U-KIT is a single-port PoE over UTP extender kit that enables data and power transmission up to 500 m (1,640 ft) over 4-pair UTP cable (or up to 300 m over a single-pair twisted cable) and a further 100 m over standard Ethernet cable to a PoE IP camera, PoE wireless AP or access control device. The kit comprises two compact, wall-mountable metal units designed for reliable operation in harsh environments and wide temperature ranges.

How to use

Install the injector unit (LRP-101UH) near a power source and connect its UTP long-reach port to the extender unit (LRP-101UE) using 4-pair UTP or existing twisted-pair cable up to the supported distance. Connect the extender’s Ethernet output to the PoE device (IP camera, wireless AP or access control) using a standard Ethernet cable for the final up-to-100 m segment. No configuration is required; the units negotiate power automatically to deliver up to 25 W to the powered device. Use the front-panel LEDs to confirm link and power status during installation.

Usage recommendations

For best performance use good-quality 4-pair UTP cable for runs up to 500 m and ensure the total Ethernet segment after the extender does not exceed 100 m. Verify device compatibility with IEEE 802.3af/at and place units in locations within the specified operating temperature range (-20 to 70 °C).
