Fiber optic transceiver module PLANET MFB-F40
The PLANET MFB-F40 is a Small Form Factor Pluggable (SFP) fiber optic transceiver module designed for integrated duplex data links over optical fiber. Supporting the SFP Multisource Agreement (MSA) and hot-pluggable operation, the MFB-F40 installs easily into SFP-compliant ports without interrupting host equipment. It operates at a wavelength of 1310 nm and provides 100 Mbit/s data transfer, with transmission ranges up to 2 km on multimode fiber and up to 60 km on single-mode fiber. This module is part of the MFB-T series developed for industrial Ethernet use and supports an extended operating temperature range of -40°C to 75°C for reliable performance in demanding environments.
The MFB-F40 offers a standardized SFP form factor with hot-pluggable convenience, compatibility with SFP MSA ports, and long-wavelength (1310 nm) transmission suitable for both multimode and single-mode links. Its design supports an extended temperature range for industrial deployments and provides a straightforward way to add 100Base-FX connectivity to networking equipment while maintaining uninterrupted operation during installation.
Insert the MFB-F40 transceiver into an available SFP port on compatible network equipment while the host is powered on; the hot-pluggable design allows installation without shutting down the device. Connect the appropriate fiber optic cable (multimode or single-mode) to the transceiver’s optical interface, observing correct connector type and polarity. Configure the host device for 100Base-FX operation if required by the equipment. Verify link status and monitor the connection through the host device’s management interface.
Use fiber cables and connectors that match the module’s specified fiber type and distance capability, ensure proper ESD handling when inserting or removing the SFP module, and verify environmental compatibility for installations exposed to extreme temperatures or electrically harsh conditions.
