Fiber optic transceiver module PLANET MFB-FA20
The PLANET MFB-FA20 is a Small Form Factor Pluggable (SFP) fiber optic transceiver module designed for 100 Mbit/s Ethernet links. It operates at a wavelength of 1310 nm and supports duplex data transmission over optical fiber. Compliant with the SFP Multisource Agreement (MSA) and hot-pluggable, the MFB-FA20 can be inserted into any SFP MSA–compliant port without interrupting host equipment operation. The transceiver supports reaches up to 2 km on multimode fiber and up to 60 km on single-mode fiber and is intended for industrial use where wide temperature tolerance and reliable fiber connectivity are required.
The MFB-FA20 provides a standardized, hot-pluggable SFP form factor for easy installation and replacement. Its 1310 nm FP laser diode enables stable data transmission at 100 Mbit/s over short and long fiber spans, while compliance with SFP MSA ensures broad interoperability with SFP ports from different vendors. The module is specified for demanding industrial environments, offering operation across a wide temperature range to maintain reliable fiber links in harsh conditions.
Insert the MFB-FA20 into an available SFP MSA–compliant slot on your switch, router, or media converter while the host is powered on; the module is hot-pluggable and does not require shutting down the device. Connect the appropriate fiber patch cable (multimode or single-mode) to the transceiver’s duplex LC interface, ensure correct fiber type for the required distance, and verify link/activity LEDs on the host to confirm the connection.
Use multimode fiber for links up to 2 km and single-mode fiber for longer links up to 60 km. Verify that the host SFP port supports 100Base-FX and SFP MSA modules, and maintain proper fiber handling and cleanliness to preserve signal quality. For industrial deployments, confirm the device’s operating temperature range matches the installation environment.
