Fiber optic transceiver module PLANET MGB-LB40
The PLANET MGB-LB40 is a fiber optic SFP transceiver module designed for 1000BASE long-distance gigabit links. Operating at a wavelength of 1550 nm and supporting a data rate up to 1000 Mbit/s, the MGB-LB40 provides a compact, hot-pluggable solution compatible with SFP MSA ports. It is suitable for extending network reach over single-mode fiber and for use in networking equipment that accepts SFP mini-GBIC modules.
The transceiver is SFP-MSA compliant and hot-pluggable, allowing installation without interrupting host equipment. It supports long-distance single-mode transmission and a standard gigabit data rate, while its compact SFP form factor ensures compatibility with a wide range of switches and fiber-capable devices. The MGB-T family (to which this model belongs) is specified for wide operating temperatures for use in demanding environments.
Insert the MGB-LB40 into an available SFP port on a compatible switch, router, or media converter while the host device is powered on; the module supports hot-plug installation. Connect the single-mode fiber cable to the transceiver's LC interface using the appropriate connector and ensure correct fiber polarity. Configure link settings on the host device as required for 1000BASE operation and verify link status through the host equipment's management interface or LEDs.
Use single-mode fiber with appropriate attenuation and connectors for long-distance links, and follow the host device manufacturer guidelines for compatible SFP modules. For installations in extreme environments, verify device and transceiver temperature specifications before deployment.
