The PLANET MTB-LA20 is a high-performance SFP+ fiber optic transceiver module designed for 10G Ethernet applications. Built with a metallic housing, it provides a durable interface for integration into switches, routers and servers that support SFP+ ports. The module supports both multimode and single-mode deployments, enabling link distances from 300 meters (multimode, LC) up to 10 kilometers (single-mode, LC), suitable for enterprise, telecom and ISP networks as well as data center cloud environments.
The MTB-LA20 offers a 10Gbit/s SFP+ interface in a compact form factor with a robust metallic enclosure for reliable operation. It is compatible with PLANET devices that accept SFP+ transceivers and is suitable for mixed network environments by supporting both multimode and single-mode fiber links. The module is engineered for straightforward hot-plug installation and stable long-distance optical transmission up to the specified ranges.
Insert the MTB-LA20 into a compatible SFP+ slot on a switch, router or server while the host device is powered according to the equipment manufacturer’s instructions. Connect the appropriate LC fiber cable—multimode for short-range links and single-mode for longer distances—ensuring correct polarity and secure connectors. After physical installation, verify link status and speed via the host device management interface and configure network settings as required.
Use multimode LC fiber for short links within buildings (up to 300 m) and single-mode LC fiber for longer runs (up to 10 km). Ensure SFP+ compatibility with the host device and follow ESD precautions during handling and hot-plug operations.
