It is designed to work with devices that have 10G SFP+ interfaces and to extend network links over optical fiber for enterprise, telecom and ISP environments as well as data center cloud computing. The module is compact, black, and compatible with equipment that accepts SFP+ transceivers.
The MTB-LA40 provides reliable 10G Ethernet connectivity over optical fiber and supports both multi-mode and single-mode deployments to cover short- to medium-range links. Its SFP+ form factor ensures wide compatibility with 10G-capable networking equipment and offers a straightforward upgrade path to higher network speeds without major infrastructure changes.
Insert the PLANET MTB-LA40 transceiver into a compatible 10G SFP+ port on your switch or router until it clicks into place. Connect the appropriate LC fiber patch cable to the transceiver, ensuring you use multi-mode fiber for short-distance runs and single-mode fiber for longer distances as required. Configure the link speed and optical settings on the networking device according to its documentation and verify link status through the device management interface.
Use certified LC fiber patch cables and ensure proper transceiver compatibility with the host device. For runs up to 300 m use multi-mode fiber; for runs up to 10 km use single-mode fiber. Follow ESD precautions when handling the transceiver and keep protective caps on the fiber ports when not in use.
