The PLANET SGS-6341-24T4X is a managed Layer 3 Gigabit Ethernet switch with 24 Gigabit RJ‑45 ports and four SFP+ 10Gbps uplink slots. Designed for enterprise backbone and data center networking, it provides a non‑blocking switching fabric with up to 128 Gbit/s switching capacity, Layer 3 static routing plus RIP and OSPF support, and comprehensive Layer 2 to Layer 4 traffic control features. The switch supports IPv6 management and common network security standards, and is available in a black chassis weighing approximately 3.17 kg.
The SGS-6341-24T4X integrates high‑density Gigabit ports with four 10Gbps SFP+ uplinks to deliver wire‑speed throughput for server aggregation and backbone links. Its Layer 3 routing capabilities (static, RIP, OSPF) help segment and route traffic efficiently across complex networks, while robust Layer 2 features—VLAN, Q‑in‑Q, MSTP and port aggregation—support flexible topology design. Built‑in security and management functions, including ACL, IEEE 802.1x, RADIUS, SSH, Web, SNMP and console access, enable centralized and secure administration. Weighted Round Robin (WRR) and Layer 4 traffic classification allow predictable QoS for VoIP, video streaming and multicast services.
Install the SGS-6341-24T4X in a standard rack and connect power and network cabling according to site requirements. Use the Web GUI or console/Telnet interface for initial configuration and IP address assignment. Configure VLANs, port speed/duplex, and link aggregation for access and uplink ports; provision SFP/SFP+ transceivers in the SFP+ slots for required fiber or copper uplink distances and speeds. Set up Layer 3 routing rules (static, RIP or OSPF) as needed to interconnect routed segments, and apply ACLs, WRR and Layer 4 policies to enforce traffic handling and QoS.
For stable operation in enterprise or data center environments, use quality SFP/SFP+ transceivers that match your required distance and speed, group access ports into VLANs to limit broadcast domains, and deploy link aggregation for high‑capacity uplinks. Maintain firmware updates and use RADIUS or SSH for secure remote management. When deploying OSPF or RIP, validate topology and route metrics to avoid suboptimal routing loops.
