PoE splitter PULSAR SP-POE12 — PULSAR PoE to 12V DC splitter
PoE splitter PULSAR SP-POE12 — PULSAR PoE to 12V DC splitter
PULSAR SP-POE12 is a PoE splitter that extracts electrical power from a Power over Ethernet (PoE) connection and converts it to a regulated 12V DC output, while passing network data through the same Ethernet cable. The device is intended for installations where end equipment such as surveillance cameras, access points or other 12V devices require a DC supply but do not have built-in PoE support. By separating data and 12V power on a single cable, the splitter simplifies deployment and allows using centralized PoE sources without additional power cabling.
The splitter provides a stable 12V DC output derived from PoE, enabling compatibility with non-PoE 12V devices. Its compact form factor permits installation near the powered device without occupying significant space. The unit maintains network data integrity while delivering power at the required voltage, reducing the need for separate power adapters and additional cabling. Use of a PoE splitter can centralize power management and reduce points of failure in an installation.
Connect an Ethernet cable from a PoE switch or injector to the PoE input of the PULSAR SP-POE12. Attach the splitter's Ethernet output to the network port of the powered device so that data continues to pass through. Connect the 12V DC output lead to the device's power input using the appropriate polarity and connector. Ensure the PoE source provides sufficient power budget for the target device. Power and network will then be delivered over the same cable while the splitter provides a separate 12V supply.
Verify device power consumption and PoE source class to confirm compatibility. Use appropriate cable lengths and quality (CAT5e or higher recommended) to maintain reliable network throughput. Inspect polarity and connector type before connecting the 12V output to avoid damage. For outdoor or harsh environment installations, protect the splitter and connections from moisture and mechanical strain using compliant enclosures and strain reliefs.
