Miniature circuit breaker QOLTEC C40, 40 A, C curve, IP20, 17 mm width
QOLTEC C40 is a miniature circuit breaker with a rated current of 40 A and a C breaking characteristic designed for protection of lighting and power circuits against overloads and short circuits. The device combines an electromagnetic and thermal trip, has IP20 protection and a compact form factor for DIN-rail (TH35) installation in distribution boards. Its 17 mm width and DIN-compatible mounting make it suitable for dense electrical panels and installations including photovoltaic systems.
The QOLTEC C40 provides combined thermal and electromagnetic tripping to react to both prolonged overloads and instantaneous short-circuit currents. Its C curve characteristic offers reliable tripping behaviour for general-purpose circuits and mixed loads such as motors and lighting. With IP20 protection and a narrow 17 mm profile, the breaker saves space in distribution boards while ensuring dependable overcurrent protection. DIN-rail mounting simplifies installation and replacement in standard electrical panels.
Mount the QOLTEC C40 on a standard TH35 DIN rail inside a properly rated distribution board. Ensure power is isolated before wiring. Connect incoming supply to the line terminal and outgoing load to the load terminal following the panel schematic and national electrical codes. Verify correct polarity and tighten terminal screws to the manufacturer’s recommended torque. After wiring, restore power and test the breaker by switching it on and off; perform a functional test under load conditions as required by installation standards.
Use the QOLTEC C40 within its rated current and environmental limits. Select upstream and downstream protective devices to coordinate with the C-curve tripping behaviour. For photovoltaic installations or other specialized systems, follow local regulations and consider additional DC-rated protective devices where required. Periodically inspect terminals and mounting for proper tightness and absence of damage.
