Fibre optic adapter SC/UPC Qoltec 54142 single-mode blue, 1 pc
Qoltec 54142 is a single-mode fibre optic adapter with an SC/UPC connector interface in blue finish. It is designed to join two SC/UPC terminated single-mode fibres, providing a stable optical path in patch panels, splice enclosures and repair scenarios. Supplied as a single unit in a polybag, this adapter supports precise single-mode alignment and straightforward integration with fibre patchcords used for high-speed data transmission.
The adapter offers low insertion loss and stable mating characteristics for single-mode links. Its SC/UPC interface ensures reliable ferrule alignment and low back-reflection, while the robust housing and openable clips enable easy assembly, disassembly and maintenance. The compact blue design is compatible with standard SC ports and facilitates identification in mixed cabling environments.
Align the SC/UPC ferrules of each single-mode patchcord with the adapter ports and insert until the retention clips engage. Ensure connectors are clean and free of dust or debris before mating to minimize insertion loss and back-reflection. For disconnection, depress the clip and withdraw the connector straight out to avoid damaging the ferrule. Use dust caps when the adapter is not in service to protect the mating faces.
For optimal performance, inspect and clean connector end faces with appropriate fibre cleaning tools prior to connection, avoid excessive bending or mechanical stress at the cable entry, and use the adapter within its intended single-mode optical links. In installations within cable ducts or conduits, route duplex cables with minimal compression to preserve mechanical integrity.
