InfiniBand/fibre optic cable QOLTEC 54286 — SC to SC, 10 m, green
QOLTEC 54286 is a 10 m InfiniBand/fibre optic cable featuring SC connectors on both ends and a green jacket for easy identification. The cable is intended for single-mode fibre links with a 9 µm core diameter and provides a straightforward SC–SC connection suitable for network equipment, fibre patch panels, storage systems and high-performance computing (HPC) interconnects. Its single-mode design supports long-distance, low-loss signal transmission within compatible fibre infrastructure.
The SC–SC terminated single-mode construction ensures low insertion loss and reliable optical performance for point-to-point links. A 10 m length balances reach and manageability in racks and wiring closets, while the green outer jacket helps with colour-coded cable management. The standardized SC connectors are widely used and allow simple mating with compatible adapters, transceivers and panels without additional tools.
Inspect connector endfaces before installation to ensure they are clean and free of dust or debris. Route the 10 m cable along existing cable trays or management channels, avoiding tight bends and excessive tension to preserve optical performance. Insert the SC connectors into compatible SC ports or adapters until they latch; ensure correct alignment to avoid damage. For multi-equipment setups, label each end if needed to keep track of link endpoints.
For optimal performance, use with single-mode transceivers and maintain bend radii above the manufacturer’s minimum. Clean connector endfaces with appropriate fibre cleaning tools before mating, and store unused connectors with protective dust caps. Use the green jacket as part of a colour-coded scheme to simplify identification and maintenance in racks and patch panels.
