Epoxy Resin RAYTECH RAY-RESIN-170 — two-part casting and laminating resin
RAYTECH RAY-RESIN-170 is a two-part epoxy resin formulated for casting, laminating and general bonding tasks. Supplied as a resin and a compatible hardener, this system cures to a durable, clear or slightly tinted finish suitable for moulding, encapsulation, coatings and composite fabrication. The product is intended for both hobby and professional use where reliable adhesion and mechanical stability are required.
This epoxy system offers reliable cure control and good wetting of common substrates, enabling strong bonds and stable laminates. Its cured appearance is clear to slightly tinted, making it appropriate for transparent casting and decorative applications as well as structural repairs. The two-component formulation provides predictable working and cure times when mixed in the recommended ratio and under appropriate conditions.
Measure the resin and hardener according to the manufacturer's recommended mix ratio and combine in a clean container. Stir thoroughly, scraping the sides and bottom, until a uniform mixture is achieved. Degas if necessary before pouring, or pour directly into moulds and apply to substrates for lamination. Maintain appropriate ambient temperature to ensure proper curing. Allow the component to fully cure before demoulding or performing any secondary machining operations.
Work in a well-ventilated area and use appropriate personal protective equipment such as gloves and eye protection. Follow recommended mix ratios and avoid contaminating the components. Test on a small sample when bonding unfamiliar substrates and observe cure times at the actual working temperature.
