Ricom pipe elbow 87° solvent-weld PP 87ST DN80
Ricom pipe elbow 87° solvent-weld PP 87ST DN80 is a polypropylene (PP) fitting designed to create a sealed directional change of approximately 87 degrees in drainage and wastewater piping runs. Intended for solvent-weld connections, this elbow matches DN80 pipe dimensions and provides chemical resistance and dimensional stability typical of PP materials used in sanitary, drainage and sewer installations where a slightly greater-than-90° offset is required for routing or connecting branches.
The polypropylene construction delivers resistance to common sewer and drainage media and to many chemicals found in domestic and light commercial wastewater, while keeping weight low for easier handling. Solvent-weld connection points provide a continuous, leak-resistant joint when installed correctly, eliminating the need for mechanical couplings at the elbow. Its 87° geometry allows alignment flexibility when a non-standard angle is needed to avoid obstructions or to match existing slopes and fittings.
Before assembly, confirm compatibility of pipe outer diameter and cleaning/priming requirements for solvent-weld joining. Prepare mating pipe ends by cutting square, deburring and cleaning surfaces according to solvent cement manufacturer instructions. Apply the appropriate solvent cement to the socket and pipe shank and insert the pipe fully into the socket with a slight twist to ensure even distribution. Allow the joint to set and cure for the time specified by the solvent cement supplier before exposing the system to flow or pressure. Follow any local codes and manufacturer guidance for slope, support spacing and testing of the installed system.
Use only solvent cements and primers recommended for polypropylene systems and follow temperature limits during installation. Provide adequate support near the elbow to prevent stress on the joint, and perform a leak test after curing. For applications involving non-standard chemicals or high temperatures, verify material compatibility before installation.
