Freestanding Rack Cabinet Rittal 5315.118 47U 19" Rack, 600x2200x1200 mm, Grey/Black, Key Lock, 1500 kg capacity
The Rittal 5315.118 freestanding 19" rack cabinet provides a robust infrastructure solution for server rooms and network installations. With a 47U usable rack height and standard external dimensions of 600 x 2200 x 1200 mm, this cabinet accommodates servers, switches, patch panels and associated cabling. Constructed from steel and aluminium components and finished in a Grey/Black colour combination, the unit is designed for heavy-duty installations and includes a key lock for controlled access.
The cabinet supports equipment loads up to 1500 kg, making it suitable for dense server deployments and heavy network hardware. Removable front and back doors and removable side panels simplify equipment installation and maintenance, and the 19" rack format ensures compatibility with standard IT devices. The external dimensions and 47U capacity provide ample space for rack-mounted equipment and cable routing while maintaining a compact footprint for data centre aisles.
This cabinet is optimized for environments that require a freestanding, heavy-duty rack and may be oversized for small office spaces where only a few 1U–2U devices are needed. It is not intended as a compact or wall-mounted solution; sites that cannot provide the cabinet’s footprint or ceiling height to accommodate 2200 mm tall equipment should consider alternative form factors.
Position the freestanding rack on a level surface and ensure sufficient clearance for ventilation and cable access. Install 19" mounting rails at the required U positions and secure equipment using appropriate rack screws and cage nuts. Use the removable doors and side panels to access the interior for installation and cabling. Distribute weight evenly and attach heavier items toward the bottom of the rack to maintain stability. Engage the key lock to restrict physical access when required.
For stability and airflow, mount heavier units near the base, implement structured cable management to avoid airflow obstruction, and use the removable panels for maintenance access. Regularly inspect mounting hardware and door locks to maintain secure operation in server room environments.
