Electrical enclosure Rittal 9782.828 — aluminium and stainless steel, IP55, 800x2000x800 mm
Rittal 9782.828 is an IP55-rated electrical enclosure made from aluminium with stainless-steel components, designed for floor-mounted installations. With external dimensions of 800 × 2000 × 800 mm, the enclosure protects switchgear, control panels and electrical components from dust and water jets while providing a stable, corrosion-resistant housing for industrial and commercial control cabinet applications.
The combination of aluminium construction and stainless-steel parts ensures a balance of lightweight structure and local corrosion resistance where required. IP55 protection rating means the cabinet offers reliable ingress protection against dust and low-pressure water jets, suitable for many indoor and sheltered outdoor environments. The floor-mounted design and standard external dimensions make it compatible with common mounting systems and accessories used in control room and plant installations.
This enclosure is rated IP55, which protects against dust and water jets but is not designed for continuous immersion or for environments requiring higher ingress protection such as IP66 or IP67. It may not be suitable where full stainless-steel construction is required for aggressive chemical exposure or where extremely high mechanical impact resistance is needed.
Place the enclosure on a level floor surface and anchor it according to local installation standards and the mounting holes provided. Fit internal mounting panels, rails or back plates as required for your equipment, observing recommended clearances for ventilation and cable entry. Route cables through appropriate gland plates or designated knockout areas and seal entries to maintain IP55 integrity. Perform electrical and mechanical installations following applicable electrical safety codes and the manufacturer’s instructions for fitted accessories.
For best results, install the enclosure in a sheltered location when possible, use suitable cable glands and sealing strips to maintain the IP55 rating, and plan internal layout to ensure adequate ventilation and service access for electrical components.
