Gigabit Converter ROLINE 21.13.1069 RJ45 to LC
The ROLINE Gigabit Converter 21.13.1069 enables media conversion between a shielded RJ-45 copper connection and an LC multimode fiber link at speeds up to 1000 Mbps. Supplied with a pre-configured Mini-GBIC (SX/LC multimode), the converter supports a fiber reach up to 500 m over 50/125 µm multimode fiber and is intended for integrating copper and fiber segments in mixed cabling networks.
This converter provides transparent conversion of all Ethernet packet types without packet length limitation and supports auto-negotiation and Auto-MDI/MDI-X on the RJ-45 port. The unit offers link pass-through between copper and fiber, an SFP-compatible fiber connector for flexible fiber transceiver options, and optional mounting choices including DIN-rail or center-chassis installation for centralized power and optional redundancy. It is standards-compliant (IEEE 802.3ab, 802.3z) and has low power consumption.
Install the pre-configured Mini-GBIC into the SFP slot if not already fitted, connect the shielded RJ-45 copper cable to the RJ-45 port and the multimode LC fiber to the LC connector. Apply the appropriate DC power within the specified range. The converter will perform auto-negotiation with the link partner and establish link pass-through between copper and fiber. For rack or centralized deployments, install the unit in a compatible center chassis or mount it on a DIN rail if required.
Use 50/125 µm multimode fiber for the specified 500 m reach and ensure the Mini-GBIC type (SX/LC multimode) matches the fiber and remote transceiver characteristics. Keep power within the +5 to +12 V DC range and follow grounding and shielding best practices when integrating shielded RJ-45 cabling into fiber infrastructure.
