ROLINE Cat6a U/FTP (STP) networking cable 5 m, grey, RJ-45 to RJ-45
ROLINE Cat6a U/FTP (STP) networking cable, 5 m, grey, with RJ-45 to RJ-45 connectors. This Cat6a shielded patch cable is designed for 10 Gigabit Ethernet and high-speed LAN links in office, server room and data centre environments. The cable uses individually foil-shielded pairs with an overall braided shield to reduce crosstalk and electromagnetic interference, while a thin, flexible TPE outer sheath and moulded kink protection make it suitable for confined cable ducts and dense patching areas.
The U/FTP (individually foil‑shielded pairs plus overall braid) construction provides improved protection against EMI and minimizes near-end crosstalk compared with unshielded alternatives. The stranded 8-core design and RJ-45 to RJ-45 straight connections support standard 1:1 wiring according to EIA/TIA-568 for straightforward installation. A flexible, elastic TPE jacket and moulded-on kink protection ensure reliable mechanical stress relief and easier routing in tight spaces.
Connect one RJ-45 end to the network device (switch, router or server) and the other RJ-45 end to the patch panel, wall outlet or another network device. Ensure connectors are fully inserted and latching tabs engage to secure the connection. Route the cable through cable ducts or trays taking advantage of the flexible TPE sheath and avoid sharp bends with radii smaller than manufacturer recommendations to preserve performance. For installations in shielded racks or cabinets, maintain proper grounding practices for shielded cabling to ensure effective EMI protection.
Use the cable as a patch or device connection in structured cabling systems and avoid exposing it to prolonged mechanical stress, extreme temperatures or fluids. For maximum shielding effectiveness, connect cable shields to equipment grounding at one end or follow your site grounding policy. Replace the cable if the outer sheath or connectors show visible damage.
