Fibre optic cable ROLINE 21.15.8606 OS2 LC–LC/APC 15 m, 9 µm core, white
ROLINE 21.15.8606 is a 15 m single‑mode fibre optic patch cable designed for indoor optical connections. It uses OS2 single‑mode fibre with a 9 µm core diameter and LC connectors on both ends, with one end featuring an APC polish to reduce back reflection. The cable has a low smoke zero halogen (LSZH) jacket and a steel‑armored construction that adds mechanical protection compared with standard patch cables.
The OS2 single‑mode fibre and APC polish deliver low attenuation and reduced return loss, making the cable suitable for long‑reach optical links and telecom environments. The steel spiral helix reinforcement increases tread and mechanical resistance for installations with higher mechanical demands. The LSZH jacket provides reduced smoke and toxic emissions in case of fire, which is preferable for indoor deployment in data centres and office buildings.
Ensure both optical transceivers or patch panels are compatible with LC connectors and single‑mode OS2 fibre. Before connecting, inspect connector endfaces for contamination and clean with appropriate fibre cleaning tools if necessary. Insert LC connectors into the corresponding sockets until they latch; observe connector orientation for the APC end to ensure correct angled mating. Route the cable without sharp bends and avoid exceeding the minimum bend radius specified by the manufacturer to maintain optical performance. Do not use the cable outdoors or in direct sunlight.
Use this cable for indoor single‑mode links where low return loss and mechanical robustness are required; store and handle connectors in protective caps when not in use, and perform routine endface inspections to maintain low attenuation and reliable connections.
